Dear everyone, Originally I intended for this blog to be a chance for you to see photos of my families in France and in the United States, as well as learn about where I live. Well, things have been pretty busy, so up until now I haven't had a chance to post everything I wanted to.
Anyways, I live in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC. Shaw is a great place that fortunately and unfortunately is undergoing rapid gentrification. I could tell you about it, but its best to see the pictures. I'll try and update it as I get more interesting shots of my neighbors and their lives over time. In the meanwhile, here are some pictures of the things on my street and close by...
Shaw has got a little bit of everything. Check out our neighborhood cafe... Mom feels like she's back in the old country.
When we aren't idling our hours away sipping lattes and discussing Sartre, you might also find us hanging out in front of one of the numerous purveyors of distilled spirits...
or possibly regretting some of our previous indiscretions at one of our local churches. Our street has more churches than any other neighborhood I have seen...
Like most neighborhoods, we have alleys...

and all sorts of chinese take out places...
On saturdays, we like to go for chilli dogs at Ben's. Its just 5 minutes away on U street...
Of course, the best part about Shaw is that all our neighbors are super friendly. You have already seen my video of Loretta. Here are some pictures of some of the neighbor's houses. I think they look really cool...
